My name is Angie Vargas, and this will be my 11th year of teaching in Frankfort! I am a Frankfort Senior High School graduate. Go Hotdogs! I attended college at Anderson University and taught for a while in Noblesville, Indiana. My husband and I met while I was on a mission trip in Peru, South America. We got married and now live near Frankfort. I spent the past 9 years teaching 5th grade, but then I had an exciting change to FMS. My husband and I have two adorable children and a sweet dog named Kishki and a cat named Mishu.
I love teaching and working with young people. It is amazing to watch students grow and change throughout a year. I am passionate about opening the eyes of my students and showing them the world outside of our little town. It is important for me that they leave my classroom with not only academic knowledge, but also the emotional and social skills that will help them succeed in the future.
When I am not teaching, I love to read, play outside with my kids, travel, and spend time with friends. My family is extremely important to me. I love attending my church and spending time with my church family. I am obsessed with the Harry Potter series and all things Harry Potter! I am an AVID Indianapolis Colts fan and spend many Sunday afternoons grading papers and yelling at the tv! (My husband thinks I am crazy!) I love learning about other people, places, languages, and cultures.
